Car Rental Delivery to Your Hotel in Dubai: How It Works

Yes: with ALKA Rent A Car, door-step delivery and collection are complimentary anywhere in Dubai, so the car is brought to your hotel or residence at the agreed time and collected from you when the rental ends. There is no walk-in showroom to visit, and deliveries to other emirates may carry a fee, which the concierge confirms before pickup.

This guide explains how delivery is arranged before you arrive, what happens during the handover and how collection works at the end of your stay.

Where the car can be delivered

Delivery is how the service works rather than an optional extra. Most ALKA clients book from outside the UAE before they arrive, so the car comes to them: to a hotel or a private residence in Dubai, at the agreed address and the agreed time. Delivery and collection anywhere in Dubai are complimentary.

If you are staying in another emirate, delivery there may carry a fee. The concierge confirms it before pickup, and any delivery or collection charge that applies to your rental is set out in your booking confirmation. ALKA operates in Dubai and the wider UAE only, so every delivery address is within the country.

Arranging delivery before you arrive

Everything except the handover itself can be settled remotely before you land. Availability is confirmed on request while the online catalogue is temporarily offline, your identity documents are verified online with no office visit, and the security deposit is held on your card as a pre-authorisation rather than charged. For the delivery itself, what matters most is the address and the time. Send both to the concierge along with your dates, and the concierge will confirm the delivery details with you before the car arrives at the agreed address in Dubai.

What happens at the handover

The handover takes place where the car is delivered, and the rental terms ask you to allow reasonable time for it. It covers a few essentials:

• Original documents. You present the originals of the documents you uploaded: for visitors, passport, entry visa or stamp, driving licence and, where required, an International Driving Permit; for residents, Emirates ID, UAE driving licence and residence visa.
• Inspection. The condition of the car is inspected, documented with photographs and recorded in a handover report signed by both sides.
• Odometer. The reading is recorded at handover and appears in the report you sign; it is recorded again at return.
• Fuel. The car arrives with a full tank, or a full charge, and is returned the same way.
• Drivers. Only drivers named on the rental agreement may drive. An additional driver must be added to the insurance policy at the start of the rental and cannot be added once it has begun.

Your rental period starts at handover. A rental day is counted as 24 hours from the time of handover, and the minimum rental period is 2 days. The delivery, collection and return conditions are set out in section 12 of our rental terms.

Collection at the end of your rental

Collection is complimentary anywhere in Dubai, just as delivery is. The car is handed back at the agreed time and place with all keys, documents, accessories and equipment, and with a full tank or a full charge. After it has been returned and inspected, your bank releases the card hold, normally within 21 days.

Collection does not have to happen where the car was delivered. A return to a different address in Dubai can be arranged, and if you are flying out, an airport return is possible too: it carries a minimum drop-off fee that is confirmed before the rental starts.

If you would like to keep the car longer, contact us before the return time and obtain written confirmation; an extension depends on availability, a valid deposit hold and payment for the additional period. Details that make delivery smoother

A few small steps help the day run as planned:

• Share the exact delivery address with your first message, including the hotel name or residence details.
• Mention any delivery outside Dubai or an airport return at the start, so the fee is confirmed before the rental begins.
• If your arrival is delayed, tell the concierge. A booking not collected within the period stated in your booking confirmation, without notice, is treated as a no-show and the applicable charge is retained.
• Keep your original documents with you rather than packed away, so they are ready at handover.
• Before collection, check the car for personal belongings. Valuables should not be left in the vehicle.
